The Wish Wall

In my previous blog I told you about The Hangout, which is a large venue at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach where I live.  Part of the entrance is pictured below and on the very bottom of this blog you can see these two walls completely.  There are two more walls at the entrance also.

All the colors you see are little pieces of paper that visitors have written a wish on and they have put them in little slots in the wall.  Being a number's guy I could not help trying to estimate how many wishes are here. I believe there are over 20,000 wishes on these walls.

I asked one of the workers about the "Wish Wall," and she told me something even more incredible-they regularly empty out the wishes to make room for more wishes.  I asked her, "What happens to all the wishes?" She said, "I tell people they go to the Wish Fairy."

What do people wish for? I only pulled out a couple of them, but here's one I read before the event last Sunday:

The wish says: "I hope I find a handsome, funny, smart, Rich, Man soon and Live happily ever after." I hope she does too.

I've been told some of these wishes on the wall are heartbreaking.  But, it does lead to an important question, "What do you wish for right now in your life?" A wish is only a wish unless you're doing something to make that wish come true.

May all your wishes and dreams come true.
