For those of you just tuning into this blog, you need some more info before reading further. Four and a half years ago, my wife and I moved from New Jersey to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We gave our TV to our son and figured we would at some point get a TV for our new house when we were ready for it. There's only been a few times in the last four years we missed having a TV, but we have really enjoyed the looks on people's faces when we told them that we didn't have one. One of my riders told me that not having a TV was, "Like not having a fork in your house."
We have made a decision to begin the process of getting a TV. First, we are going to sell the couch pictured below and we're going to get a cabinet that we can put the TV on to replace the couch. I'm sure there is a good name for that piece of furniture, but we haven't needed one in awhile and I have no clue. Maybe it's called a TV cabinet? (The quilts on the couch are made by our oldest daughter)
Once we sell the couch we will begin to look for a smart TV. We're not going to get cable, we'll just watch some movies or shows on our TV and who knows, maybe in a few years we'll get cable. Or, we may decide we don't need a TV and we can sell the TV first and then the cabinet and then get a new couch. It all begins in about ten days. I know you're even less excited than we are, but the time has come.
